Hi all
The wonderful and incredibly talented Matt Reading (Mr BB8 and IronMan) is going to run a star gazing and astronomy event for our Explorers on Saturday 11th May 2019, 6pm, weather permitting.
We are super lucky to have secured Matt’s time again and know that the Explorers will enjoy the knowledge and insight he will be able to bring to the event.
Matt will begin with an astronomy talk and then as it darkens we will have the chance to have a look through Matt’s telescopes at the skies above us.
This event is free of charge, but please register at the link in your email so we can cater for numbers. Please arrive for a 6pm start, but feel free to leave as and when you need to, particularly those with younger children.
We look forward to seeing you there. Open to all ages.
With regards
Elizabeth McKee
Dear Explorer Parents
This year our evening parent support meetings will be once a term.
Our discussion group is a chance for you to meet other parents of gifted and 2E children, to bring your worries, concerns and frustrations to share in a safe and understanding space, as well celebrating the achievements and delights of parenting our challenging and awesome kids. Maybe you don’t have any concerns at present…please come along anyway to support other parents who may have queries… swapping ‘parenting recipes’ and finding an empathetic parent who has ‘been there before’ can be very helpful!
Topics discussed frequently include schooling, behaviour challenges, social and emotional needs, and good book recommendations. The Explorers library collection is available at these meetings too. Tea, coffee and light snacks are provided.
Please follow the link in your email to register your attendance.
We look forward to seeing you!
Elizabeth McKee

We’ve uploaded our guide to enrolling in Te Kura Correspondence school as a new page on our website. Now’s a great time to raise the possibility of doing 2 subjects at a higher level with your school. There is a bit of prep work involved so starting early will help!
